Practice Philosophies
Easton Family Dental's goal is to provide high quality, common sense dental care for you and your family. The office offers a transparent, and pressure free way to ensure the best possible dental care. We encourage patient education and welcome questions.
Patient Care
Patient's guests are allowed and encouraged to be present in the room with our patients for all treatments if they so choose. For pediatric and some geriatric patients, parents and caregivers are encouraged to be present for treatment so they may observe what happens during treatment first hand. This also gives our providers the opportunity to demonstrate the high level of care we provide.
Treatment Planning
Our office displays x-rays and actual real time photographs on monitors allowing you to see what we see. If we see a cavity or other condition needing treatment, the area of concern will be shown to the patient on our computer via x ray or photograph. All treatment recommendations will be discussed at length. We strongly encourage you to ask questions about our treatment recommendations. If you would like more time than the appointment allows to discuss treatment options, we will be happy to call you or schedule a consultation.
Financial Information
If you would like, Easton Family Dental will gather all of your insurance information over the phone prior to your first visit. This information will be entered into our dental software to help estimate your portion and the insurance company's portion of the cost of services. Treatment estimates can be given before any work is started. Payment will be required upon completion of any procedures. Please note, in the event that our treatment plan estimates differs from what the insurance company tells you, we will proceed with our treatment plan estimates. Once payment is received from your insurance company you will be refunded any over-payment.
We encourage all of our patients to be proactive and call their insurance company to find out more about their insurance coverage as it relates to their specific treatment plan. We are happy to instruct you on how to do this at your visit. You are always welcome to see all paperwork we received from the insurance company related to your account. You can also obtain all paperwork by contacting your insurance company directly.
Radiography (X-ray)
Easton Family Dental follows the American Dental Association's (ADA) radiographic examination guidelines. We require all patients have x-rays taken at designated intervals determined by the patients individual risk of decay and the ADA's guidelines. This is to ensure proper oral health by evaluating the teeth themselves, supporting bone structure, and surrounding anatomy. Our office uses regularly inspected and maintained x-ray units, digital radiography, and protective aprons to ensure you are exposed to as little radiation as possible. We will never take an x-ray unless it is absolutely necessary.
Again, in accordance with ADA guidelines we require all patients to have X-rays taken to ensure the best dental care. However, if you are not comfortable with taking dental x-rays under any circumstance, Easton Family Dental will understand and possibly assist you in finding an office which does not require them.
Alternative Medicine
We understand that some patients may be more comfortable with alternative treatment options and we respect those beliefs. Easton Family Dental practices evidence based dentistry supported by the ADA. We will try to reasonably accommodate some alternatives to traditional methods, however, if you are still uncomfortable with the options presented for treatment, Easton Family Dental will not pressure you into treatment. You are free to consider other practices which will meet your needs.
Scheduling
Easton Family Dental will always attempt to schedule your appointment which is convenient with your schedule and our office hours. We will provide you with an appointment card while you are in the office, and telephone call as a riendly reminder.
Out of respect for other patients trying to make appointments and our provider's time we require 48 hour notice for cancellations. Cancellations within 48 hours may be charged a $25 cancellation fee. We do understand that some things happen which are outside a patient's control; therefore situation may be evaluated individually to determine if a fee will be charged.
Second Opinion
Easton Family Dental is more than happy to provide you with a second opinion. If you would like our office to give a second opinion we are happy to do so. Please schedule an appointment with the front administrator explaining that a second opinion is needed. We ask that you do not give us the other office's treatment plan so that you can be assured our recommendations have no outside influence.
Life is too Short/Best Fit
We believe life is too short to involve yourself with people that make you unhappy. There are many dental care providers, we all do things a little bit differently. Easton Family Dental is a great fit for most families, but our office may not for everyone. We believe everyone benefits when patients and their families choose the clinic that is the best fit for them even if that means the best fit is not us. If at anytime you have concerns with your care, our policies, or anything else related to your experience at our office please let us know. We will be happy to resolve the issue and/or help you find a clinic that better suits your needs and expectations.
